FAQ
To send email communications to participants and crews, we use a program that your email client (outlook / Gmail / etc ..) could, in some cases, classify as SPAM. For this reason, if you do not receive our emails, we advise you to check the SPAM box, you will probably find our email there. If, on the other hand, you still do not receive communications from the staff, write to info@raidtribe.com or on the RaidTribe Facebook group and we will check.
Important : sending communications via e-mail is safe and is the channel that the organization uses to keep updated the participants. Sometimes, however, the e-mail messages may not arrive at their destination, for various reasons, so always remember that it is your responsibility to also check the other channels of the event to stay updated on any news, changes or program changes.
In RaidTribe events you are 100% responsible for your Adventure.
The Staff will provide you with an extraordinary route to follow, information that makes the difference, unprecedented media coverage and colorful traveling companions with whom you can share memorable experiences, thus enabling you to take part, even as a beginner, in spectacular Adventures. Having said that, however, remember that we remain faithful to the concept of Adventure and during the events you will not receive any support or assistance from the Staff. These are not motorcycle supported rallies, but autonomous adventures.
From departure until arrival you will be completely free to establish your strategy and your schedule, decide when to stop, where to rest, where to eat and how to deal with and manage the changing conditions and the fantastic territories that will parade alongside you along the way.
Without support it means that you will not receive help from the Staff and that you will not be able to have vehicles in tow, but you are free at any time to provide and receive support from the other crews or to contact whoever you want (workshops, commercial activities, hotels, restaurants, etc. ) to solve technical problems and needs of all kinds.
From the moment of departure and until arrival, the Staff will follow you along the entire route only with control functions and to document your Adventure, with photographers and video makers, creating incredible contents that will be launched on the event channels, live, for the entire duration of the event.
Each crew will also receive a satellite device capable of tracking the position on the live map of the event at any time, thus allowing fans from all over the world, friends and relatives, to follow your Adventure live. It is the obligation of each crew to constantly track their position on the event map.
Now it’s up to you and your Vespa, there is a whole world out there to conquer.
20 years ago, almost by chance, we decided to embark, as self-taught and chasing a romantic idea, on long expeditions by land in extreme territories located in every corner of the planet. It was a splendid madness that changed our lives in a radical and incredibly positive way, a madness that, living it all on our skin and learning from our mistakes, taught us every aspect of this wonderful world of two-wheeled adventure raids.
The first lesson we learned as self-taught is that things happen first in our mind and then in reality. And the Adventure, like everything else, follows the same rules. It requires a preparatory mental switch that tunes us to the desire to put ourselves to the test and to that magnificent feeling of uncertainty and epic, so far from everyday life, but typical of overland raids. Our mission is to bring people to live in a real and fulfilling world made of challenges, infinite roads to rest your eyes on and above all, a magnificent side effect for which perhaps we really do, return to feel alive and at the helm of our own. life. In fact, embracing the spirit of adventure has incredibly powerful reflections in every area of our life.
The second valuable lesson that the Adventure has revealed to us is that the fears that always accompany the Adventures by land before departure often remain only fears that then do not turn into reality. This does not mean that the Adventure must be faced lightly, on the contrary, it requires awareness and a sense of responsibility, but on the basis of dozens of Adventure Raids we can tell you with sufficient certainty that in every corner of the planet you will probably find, in case of problems, someone ready to help you who will surprise you with his support and his goodness of mind.
The world out there is not just what the media portray and people immediately fall in love with the stories of those who have the courage to tackle hundreds of kilometers or an entire continent on a 30-year-old Vespa or moped. You will see it with your own eyes and the reason, if you think about it, is quite simple: it is the dream that almost everyone would like to realize.

Immediately after registering for the event you can ask for your DTD300 Pilot Badge by sending an email to: info@raidtribe.com.
In the email you will have to attach your photo and that of the vehicle with which you will participate, together with a brief description of yourself. Without a description, the Badge cannot be published on our Social Channels.
Once ready we will send you your Badge by email and at the discretion of the Staff (since it is not possible to publish them all) we will use it on the RaidTribe social channels, to make you the Protagonist of a Unique Challenge like the DawnToDusk300.
Many of you come from all over Italy and Europa to take part in this Incredible 50 cc Time Challenge, to make the DawnToDusk300 weekend unforgettable we have therefore identified a structure where, at the end of the event and for those coming from outside Florence, you can stay overnight in a modern context and at super advantageous prices, especially considering that the suggested structure is almost in the city center and just 3 km away from the DawnToDusk300 start / arrival point.
We are talking about Camping Hu Firenze which, contrary to the name, also and above all offers comfortable and modern bungalows for 3 and 5 people at a competitive price.
The structure is new, modern and well organized, complete with shops, swimming pool and restaurant inside.
Here is the link to the site of the structure where you can make the reservation:
https://firenze.huopenair.com
Other solutions for overnight stays can be easily found in the municipalities close to Florence, such as Signa, Montelupo, Lastra a Signa.
Registration for the event is non-refundable and is valid only for the current edition.
But it is right, and we would like to explain the reasons: unlike other adventure events in RaidTribe we have extremely clear standards of our events and we immediately decided to create a series of events with certain quality characteristics.
These standards have a very high cost.
Whether it is the complete study of the route with the most recent cartography and the numerous inspections on the territory, the coverage of the event with professionals following the crews thanks to 2 fully equipped service cars, or the GPRS trackers included in the registration and data on loan for free use to each participant, the RaidTribe events, at the time of writing, are the only non-competitive overland Adventure Raids that, in addition to competitive rally events, offer and guarantee such a level of quality, average coverage and investments.
In a micro world like that of Adventure events it is easily verifiable and since we are sure of what we say, we invite you to check: get informed.
Precisely for the standards that we have decided to give to events since their birth and whatever the number of participants, we undertake in advance to guarantee an unchanged level of quality that does not depend in any way on our Partners and sponsors of the event, incurring huge costs both in the launch phase and later, on the basis of each subscriber to the event.
This is the reason why your registration fee, even if you decide not to use it, will be used to keep the DawnToDusk300 active and more and more maintained.
To participate in the DawnToDusk300 it is not necessary to be a member of the Vespa Club or other associations. However, if you are already a member of another Italian Vespa Club, the Vespa Club Firenze Card included in the registration for the event will not overlap with that of your Club to which you belong as it is an internal card of the Florence Club only and is not issued by the Vespa Club Italia.
Cancellation – If, for reasons of force majeure that do not depend on the organization but from environmental and / or health causes at a national or international and / or other level, the event could not take place safely, the event will be canceled, the amount paid at the time of registration will not be refunded but will be considered valid for the next edition.
Displacement – Being Adventure events, RaidTribe events expect to be carried out in any condition, even with adverse conditions and weather, however, if exceptionally unfavorable weather conditions are expected for the day of departure of the event, the Staff reserves the right, at its complete discretion, to postpone the event, rescheduling it, to the earliest possible date, keeping the registration fees paid valid.
At DawnToDusk300, the true heritage of the event is you. You will embark on an exciting two-wheeled time trial that will inspire other people, for this reason, once registered you will be the protagonist of the Crews 2023 page. The world needs lightness and positive examples.
During the registration process for the event you will be able to provide us with the information that we will use to create the crew page, in particular we will ask you:
name
surname.
Nationality
Name of the crew (Team)
Name of the vehicle
brand, model and year of the vehicle
After registration closes, the page will be online with the list of all the crews participating in the DawnToDusk300.
It is the exclusive responsibility of the crews to be in possession of a driving licence, booklet, insurance and stamp of the vehicle present at the start.
Detailed information on the event, the place of departure, times and everything necessary to make the DTD300 Experience unforgettable are reserved for registered Crews only and will be provided in a complete Digital Guide which is sent via email to Registered Pilots, approximately 20 days before the event (for DTD300 Edition III around the beginning of september 2023)
You can participate in the DawnToDusk300, only as a single crew, riding the following vehicles:
Vespa or other moped with a maximum displacement of 50 cc, with a year of production by 2000.
Participation in the DawnToDusk300 is reserved for vehicles with a maximum displacement of 50 cc and with a year of production by 2000, as reported in the vehicle’s booklet and documents. Since the event is a non-competitive Adventure and not a race, the organizer is exempt from checking the starting vehicles to verify compliance with the factory documents. It is therefore always the sole responsibility of the participating crew to respond to possible checks by the police, for non-compliant / elaborated / modified vehicles that do not meet the safety criteria of the highway code.
The DawnToDusk300 is a NON-COMPETITIVE time trial that takes place on roads open to traffic. The crews are required to be extremely careful and to comply with the rules of the road. This is a challenge to be faced with a sense of responsibility and a desire to have fun.
The track of the event will be available to the Pilots approximately 10 days before the event (around september 13, 2023) directly in the WHIP satellite app, the same app that will broadcast the live position of each Pilot on the Live Map of the event. For those wishing to follow the route with other tools, such as a GPS device or Google Maps, the track of the route that you will find in the app can be downloaded, in gpx format, by each participant in the event.
To access the app as a Registered Pilot for the event and therefore view and download the track of the route, a specific activation link will be sent by email to each participant.
Things done right take an enormous amount of time.
Preparing a quality track by choosing only the best routes and the safest roads, with continuous inspections on the territory, is therefore an enormous commitment and work that we are willing to take only for our participating crews.
We therefore remind you that the track of the event is STRICTLY RESERVED to participants only, disclosure or sharing on the internet is NOT ALLOWED, for any reason and on any platform, be it a travel forum or a group of Vespa travel enthusiasts. or the social group of DawnToDusk300.
The files of the route that you will use in our events, whether they are available through the app or through the GPX file sent directly to the participants, are always identified by a unique code. This means that in the unfortunate event that we find our track available to people NOT participating in the event, we reserve the right to definitively exclude the participant who shared the route from our events.
At DawnToDusk300 safety comes first. In the 2023 edition, the route is provided by the organization and is the same for all crews, with a dual purpose:
– allow the maximum sharing, among the participants, of what is a unique and unrepeatable experience, letting everyone go through the same route and thus increasing the possibilities of sharing and support among the participants
– allow you to discover some of the most enchanting roads and corners of Tuscany that we have traced, while minimizing, at the same time, the risks associated with traveling along roads that are not suitable for small-displacement motorcycles / mopeds.
With on-site inspections and through cartographic research we have in fact privileged scenic and secondary roads to avoid heavy traffic and dangerous conditions.
It is undeniable, however, even with all our attention and scrupulousness, that we cannot predict in any way the conditions you will find on the road at the time of the event, so here are some rules for interpreting the track that was provided to you:
At any time and for any reason related to your safety, traffic and road conditions, and therefore including road works, detours and any other imponderable situation that you may encounter along the track we have provided, you are free, to at your discretion, to abandon the track and to resume it as soon as the conditions encountered have ceased and your safety guaranteed again.
You can therefore deviate from the track at any time and then resume it as soon as possible later, using alternative routes at your discretion, if conditions require it.
The .gpx file that we send by email to the crews and that you can also find already loaded on the WHIP app is the result of dozens of hours of work spent on the maps and physically spent on the territory, with the aim of choosing for you only the most beautiful and safe as possible. The fixed route provided by the organization is the added value of RaidTribe events.
Receiving a carefully studied route that you will only have to follow is completely different from inserting a location independently on any navigator. In fact, if you ask a navigator to take you to a specific place, it is he who decides the road, not you.
Navigators don’t take into account the purpose of your trip or whether a scenic route is preferable to the shortest one, they don’t take into account traffic flows and in general, trust us, a million other things. Basically, when you tell the navigator “take me there”, you put yourself in his hands, without knowing in detail the route you will be asked to take.
In RaidTribe events the goal is Fun and this means not only covering the distance between the starting point of the event and its arrival, but doing it in the most spectacular and safest way possible, using only the most beautiful and safest roads , precisely chosen by our staff thanks to the numerous inspections on the territory and cartographic research.
This is exactly the reason why we don’t limit ourselves to simply telling you to go from A to B, (for this a simple navigator would be enough), but instead provide you with a file that will take you, curve after curve, until the completion of the challenge. It will be sufficient to follow our route through the WHIP app, or, at your choice, upload the file to your GPS or Google Maps and you can follow it without problems, but with a road chosen and traced by people who deal with adventure from over 20 years, not by an algorithm.
During the DawnToDusk300 :
– You will broadcast your position live on the live map of the event (https://raidtribe.com/en/live-dawntodusk300-raidtribe/ – activated a few hours before the event), followed by friends, family and thousands of enthusiasts from home.
– You will follow the fabulous route provided by the organization
To TRANSMIT your location:
About a week before the event the WHIP satellite service provider will send you an activation link via email (to the email you provided when registering for the event / the email will come directly from Whip and not from RaidTribe / check that the email did not end up in the SPAM box !) as an accredited Pilot and by following the instructions provided you will activate your profile on the app.
Once you have created your profile on the app thanks to the activation link you will find the “DawnToDusk300” event. Register for the event on the app and from the moment the event starts, from 7.02 on Saturday 23 September 2023, your phone, without you having to do anything else, will automatically transmit your position to the live map. Tracking costs are fully covered by the organization.
To FOLLOW THE ROUTE provided you have 3 alternatives, at your complete discretion:
1) FOLLOW THE ROUTE WITH A CARTOGRAPHIC GPS
GPS is the ideal device when it comes to Adventure and that’s what we recommend you use for the DawnToDusk300. If you want to enjoy the navigation experience to the fullest without depending on the 4G network or excessive battery consumption, not to mention the robustness of the GPS compared to the smartphone, equip yourself with Cartographic GPS. With the GPS you can load the route file directly on the device and have it always available.
The advantages of GPS:
– does not use the cellular network and data but always connects directly to the satellites, so you will always find the path to follow even in the presence of a lack of signal.
– is a tropicalised device. Unlike smartphones, it is generally designed to withstand water, wind, dust and shocks.
– has a much lower energy consumption than a smartphone because the gps essentially does only one thing, while the smartphone uses, often at the same time, dozens of apps that limit battery life.
To upload the event route to the GPS, simply connect the GPS to the computer where you downloaded the track of the route (GPX file). The GPS folder will then appear on the Desktop and once you have identified the file folder inside, just drag the GPX file into the device folder. When the GPS device restarts, you should see the track we sent you and at that point it will be sufficient to select it and follow the route on the map, with navigation that is very similar to classic road navigators.
2 ) FOLLOW THE ROUTE WITH THE WHIP APP
The same satellite App that you will need to install on your phone to broadcast the position live can also be used as a navigator, with convenient voice instructions that will allow you to enjoy the route with greater freedom, without checking your mobile phone screen too often.
To use WHIP in navigator mode you will need to activate the PLUS profile.
The PLUS profile is a paid subscription but includes a 14-day free trial (it can only be activated once for free so if you have already activated it in the past, know that by activating the PLUS profile again you will receive an immediate charge, however you can select the 1-month subscription at a cost of only 6 euros, and then cancel without further charges) so you can activate it without any charge and then, at the end of the event, deactivate it immediately, so as not to incur any costs.
Deleting the PLUS profile takes 30 seconds.
Once the PLUS profile has been activated, you don’t have to do anything else, you will find the route of the event already loaded on the app, ready to be followed.
3 ) FOLLOW THE ROUTE WITH GOOGLE MAPS
If you have chosen to follow the route using Google Maps you will have to load the track (.gpx file) not on the phone, but by creating a new map starting from MyMaps. No panic, here’s how to do it.
Log in to your Google account (from a pc) and then go to MyMaps:
https://www.google.com/intl/it/maps/about/mymaps/
Click on “Create a new map”
On the next page choose “IMPORT”:
Then select the gpx file sent by the organization and drag it (or add it from the folder where the file is located) into the following screen:
Once Google Maps has processed the file you will see the map with the entire route at your disposal (blue line):
From now on you will always find it available on your Google Drive (app to download for free on your phone) and you can thus view and follow it whenever you want, simply by clicking on it, with the automatic opening of the Google Maps app (also installed on your phone).
——
Now all that remains is to have fun on the most beautiful roads that we have chosen for you and if you are wondering how to position the smartphone on the Vespa so that you can easily read the route, you will find the answer to this in point 16 of the FAQ too.
Whichever instrument you decide to use to follow the route on the screen, you will have to hook your GPS / smartphone to the handlebar of your Vespa / moped.
There are all kinds of hooks on the market that can help you travel in a practical and safe way, allowing you to easily read the route. One of the most effective attachments is undoubtedly the one on the rear view mirror.
You can find different types of hooks simply by searching on Google for “moto gps hooks” or “motorcycle smartphone hooks”
The delivery of the event package will take place from 5.15 to 6.45, directly to the departure / arrival place, in Florence, at:
(details sent to participants)
The DawnToDusk300 III Start at 7.02 on Saturday 23 September 2023 will take place in Florence, at:

Here are the precise addresses with gps coordinates:
(details sent to participants)
ATTENTION: The App you will use during the DawnToDusk300 to navigate along the route and to broadcast your position live on the map, requires more use of your phone’s battery than normal.
Depending on the model and whether your phone is new or not, the battery of your mobile phone, with the app active during the event, could last from 2.5 hours to 7 hours. Therefore, considering that the event has a maximum duration of almost 12 hours, remember to equip yourself with portable power banks or with alternative energy sources on the moped.
Power banks today cost very little and guarantee those who use the phone to surf, the sufficient autonomy to enjoy an event like the DawnToDusk300 at 100%.
TIP : Show up at the start of the event only after having done some navigation and battery life tests.
The Live Tracking system during the event and the updating of the position of each crew on the LIVEMAP, is provided free of charge by the organization to each crew, for the entire duration of the event. It is the obligation of the crews to permanently transmit their position.
The day before the start of the event, the LIVE page will be activated on the event website (www.raidtribe.com), where it will be possible, from the moment of departure and through an interactive map, to follow the crews from the first meter up to last, with the possibility of seeing the position live and other useful navigation data and the territories crossed.
It will thus be possible to follow the event, and the position of each Team, by fans and friends from all over the world, at any time.
In RaidTribe events, safety and the live transmission of the position of each crew are of fundamental importance. For this reason, in each of our events in which you will take part, there are two aspects that increase, respectively, the safety and the sharing of unique and unforgettable experiences.
NAVIGATION.
At the DawnToDusk300 the route is provided and made navigable for the participating Drivers through a satellite app to download on their mobile phones. To follow the route it will therefore be sufficient to have any smartphone with a data plan that allows access to the internet.
LIVE TRACKING.
Live Tracking means the transmission of your position live, for the entire duration of the event, on the map that is activated on the RaidTribe website and which allows friends, relatives and Adventure enthusiasts from all over the world to follow your crew. . At the DawnToDusk300 the same app that the crews use to follow the route also takes care of continuously tracking the position of each Pilot, without requiring other actions to the Pilots. So a single tool to do everything, with the utmost simplicity.
Each moped must have a perfectly functional lighting system and the Pilot must be in possession of a reflective jacket, helmet and all the safety devices required by law.
If you wish to participate in the DawnToDusk300 without owning a Vespa or other vehicles admitted to the event, the organization has signed a partnership with various companies in the area of Florence (starting point) that offer daily or multi-day rental of Piaggio Vespa and / or other mopeds. In this case, BEFORE your registration, you can send an email to info@raidtribe.com asking us to indicate to you the Partners available for this service. The rental prices reserved for RaidTribe participants are discounted by 15%.
The provision of the rental is subject to the availability of the Partner, the registration for the event will remain valid in any case.
The DawnToDusk300 provides for the physical presence of the Staff on the spot, through vehicles accompanying the crews, for the entire duration of the event.
That said, we kindly ask you to understand that it is not possible to ensure the same average coverage for all crews, some will be more present and others less, but only for logistical reasons. Your Stories, for us, are all incredible and we will do everything to tell, through interviews, videos and daily contributions made with the utmost care and quality, what it means to participate in such an incredible event like the DawnToDusk300 and what are the emotions you feel along the road.
Also remember that the experience of the DawnToDusk300 will remain unique regardless of whether you have been immortalized or not in the videos or photos of the event, which although beautiful, are only the outline of an Adventure capable of taking you away, for at least one day, from all kinds of anxieties, problems and frustrations, typical of modern life.
Live the event with serenity and fun, with the sole purpose of taking a fun break from your daily life, and we guarantee that you will treasure an experience that will bring a smile back to your whole world.
The videos, photos and interviews with the participants made by the Staff will be released, at the end of the event, on the website page dedicated to the Edition, on the Facebook page, Instagram and the RaidTribe YouTube channel.
The faq page is constantly evolving and is the main resource for finding the answers you are looking for, if you have questions that cannot be answered on this page, please send an email to: info@raidtribe.com
The Staff will answer you as soon as possible.
In order not to risk losing your messages and to have a single communication channel, please always use the email info@raidtribe.com, we do not reply to messages on Messenger or on other platforms.
Adventure will save the world!
The RaidTribe events were born with a specific purpose: to make people’s lives better and happier by allowing them, through legendary and fun Vespa Raids, to share unique Experiences with hundreds of other Adventure lovers on the Road, all united in search of strong emotions and against the grayness that now accompanies the modern world and unfortunately many of our lives.
It’s time to turn around and take back control, as the author of the book “Titanic. A Different Ending” wrote.
Making your life better means enjoying and capitalizing on experiences that for most people happen a few times in life. For this reason, everything related to events should be experienced and interpreted by those who intend to take part, with positive emotion, enthusiasm, courtesy towards others and towards the Staff, as well as awareness of being able to experience something Extraordinary capable of shaking one’s life in an incredibly powerful and positive way.
So please, always remember that the purpose of participating in RaidTribe events is to have extraordinary experiences that will make you happy and that you can tell with contagious enthusiasm to your lineage, so even if we understand that preparation can bring with it a certain amount of apprehension, approach the events in all their aspects with happiness and joy of being there, after all .. you are here for this.
Participating in RaidTribe events means giving yourself and your life a gift of unique value, as long as you are conscious and aware that you are taking part in an Adventure Raid in complete autonomy.
The Adventure, by its very nature and definition, requires flexibility, a spirit of adaptation and the ability to read the conditions in the field. Despite the obsessive care and scruple we place in the preparation of our events, it is physically impossible to predict the real conditions you will find on the pitch from the moment of departure. For this reason, you are always responsible for viewing the route sent with the utmost care.
We choose the best roads in Europe but it is easy to understand that for various and imponderable reasons the conditions in the field could be different: detours, road works, closures of other communication routes and diverted traffic flows.
For this reason, in the presence of unforeseen and extraordinary circumstances that you may find in the field, at RaidTribe events you are always free to exit the track, at your complete discretion, and to resume it as soon as the safety conditions are restored.
Tackle this adventure responsibly and the fun will be guaranteed.
Preparing an Adventure independently, from A to Z, requires months of time and careful filtering of the sources from which the information is taken. From navigation to technical aspects, from equipment to logistics, there are many things to plan.
Aware, however, that not everyone has the time and skills necessary to plan adventures of this type and wanting to bring as many people as possible to the world of Vespa and moped raids, we have studied a series of adventures with a fixed and carefully planned route, accompanied by fundamental information that is the result of our twenty years of experience in over 100 countries around the world. Indeed, having a route to follow relieves you of months of study and planning.
With over 20 years of experience in the world of adventure, our events allow everyone to experience extraordinary experiences that change people’s lives.
The RaidTribe Adventures take place on the most served and safest continent in the world, Europe. For this reason, you will presumably always be able to receive help within a few kilometers, to resolve any unforeseen events and program changes that may arise along the way, elements that have always been at the basis of the very concept of Adventure.
