RULES

1

Helmet, lights, absolute respect for the law and the highway code. The entire event takes place on roads open to traffic, vehicles must be duly registered and insured, and the first rule is road safety. Without safety, there is no fun.

2

The event has an overall maximum duration of 3 days.

The event will start in Florence on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 6:43 am (Dawn), and the deadline to complete the 700 km and achieve the Finisher Qualification is set for 7:39 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024 (Dusk).

3

Pilots can only cover the route during the hours from Dawn to Dusk each day, precisely:

Friday, September 6, 2024 – Available Time from 6:43 am (Event Start) to 7:43 pm
Saturday September 7, 2024 – Available Time from 6:44 am to 7:41 pm
Sunday, September 8, 2024 – Available Time from 6:45 am to 7:39 pm (Event End)

4

The DawnToDuskXL is a splendid Adventure Raid in complete autonomy, not a race or a rally. Fairness, sportsmanship, and willingness to assist other participants in the event are required. If your idea of fun is synonymous with stress and competition, this event may not be suitable for you.

5

For the beauty of the touched territories, to maintain high road safety, and preserve the spirit of the event, the event has been designed to ensure the best experience by completing the route in 3 days (an average of 230 km per day). The finish point in Florence, with participant reception by the staff, will be open only from 3:00 pm to 7:39 pm on Sunday, september 8, 2024.

If you complete the route before 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, you will need to wait for the finish point to open in order to be registered as a Finisher. Remember that this is not a race, and there is no specific order of arrival. If you rush, you’ll miss the most beautiful part of the event.

6

The organization will provide crews with a complete track of approximately 700 km, forming a loop from Florence to Florence. However, please be aware that at any time, for any reason related to your safety, road conditions, and traffic, including roadworks, detours, and any other unforeseen circumstances you may encounter along the provided track, you are free, at your complete discretion, to deviate from the track and resume it once the encountered conditions have ceased and your safety is guaranteed again. You are free to divert from the track at any time and then rejoin it later, using alternative roads at your discretion if conditions require.

7

At DawnToDuskXL, any type of motorcycle / motorbike / moped with two wheels (sidecars allowed) with a maximum displacement of 125 cc produced before 2000 is allowed.

Depending on the production year of your vehicle, you will participate in one of the following 3 XL categories:

Jurassic Glories – vehicles up to 125 cc produced before 1975
Rusty Beauties – vehicles up to 125 cc produced before 1990
Modern Fireballs – vehicles up to 125 cc produced before 2000

8

At DawnToDuskXL, both single crew and pairs are allowed.

9

Adventure means Autonomy, so no support vehicles are allowed to accompany the pilots. However, in case of vehicle breakdown at any point along the route, crews can, at their discretion, rely on a vehicle recovery service which can be activated upon request (all information at point 25A on the FAQ page).

10

The live tracking of participants is provided by the organization through a tracking system provided free of charge for the entire duration of the event. It is mandatory for every crew to continuously track their position during the event using the system provided by the organization. In case of failure to track, the organization is free to recall the crew to ensure that the system is properly activated.
